    Question ZR4 Head Design

I would just ask MEM-TEK this, but he hasn't logged in in two days.

Can anyone show me or tell me how the receivers and LEDs are laid out in the ZR4 heads? As specifically as possible, please. Like, how far from the ends do they sit? Are they bunched up in the middle, or at the far ends?

Hey, thanks for finding that for me! It looks like there is maybe half an inch of the head on either end where there are no LEDs or receiver sensors. That's mostly what I was looking for, to see if having the very ends obstructed would hurt anything. Apparently not.

    Thanks again!

    No problem.

I think that thread has more complete pics than the one I posted.

Just make sure you don't cover the side with the receiver. The receiver sits on one side, and then 8 LEDs next to it

I was looking at an installation yesterday, where the vertical grille slats covered about the last half inch of each end, and was worried that it might be blocking some performance. Best I can tell from the disassembly pics in that thread, there's nothing there but shell, so it should be okay.

MEM-TEK's Cincinnati Microwave Shifter ZR4 Review

    ^ MEM-TEK's detailed review of the ZR4.

If there's something specific that you're looking for, SS, cross-search my authorname and that of MEM-TEK's on either this Forum, STH.net, or the Escort Radar Forum, and you should come across my exchanges with MEM-TEK, which goes into detail on various aspects of the ZR4's heads.
