    Default Is the ZR4 detectable

Just wondering if anyone knows if the ZR4 is detectable by police with the spectre/stalcar?

No. But an experienced officer will know something is up if you jamm his lidar gun for too long.

When you get hit with laser, slow down to posted speed limit and turn your jammers off so the cop gets a reading.

He gets a reading, you don't get pulled over, everybody is happy.

The ZR4 is a laser jammer, thus a Spectre/Stalcar won't pick it up.

However, some laser guns might throw a jam code if you jam them.

If you're also using a radar detector, they are all detectable by Spectre except for the Escort 9500ci, Escort Redline, Bel STi Driver and Bel STi-R.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

Do all police try to figure out if you have a detector? In states where it's not illegal - do they care?

No, they don't try to figure it out. If they see or hear it, they know. If they don't, the thought doesn't cross their mind.

Yes, they care. It shows clear intent to try and get away with speeding, so no excuse you give them is going to get you a warning. Instead, when they see you have an RD, you get a guaranteed ticket. No warnings.

No, but anyone with a "night shot" camcorder can see them flash quite easily.

Not in PA, we have awesome staties. They do their jobs, and don't treat speeding 15 over like sexual assault (like the NJ troopers do----they would shoot for 15 over if they could). I got pulled over form an instant on shot back in August, and was pulling over before he had fully pulled out. He never had to turn his lights on until he stopped behind me in the shoulder. He approached, and with a chuckle said, "Guess you know why I pulled you over".

I got a $60 ticket with no points for "failure to obey traffic signal"----> mind you I was on the PA turnpike, where there are no traffic signlas (obviously).

I was cool, and I was cruising in the right hand lane, so he pulled me over cause its his job, not because he thought I was doing anything that wrong, and I never pulled down my 9500, just left it up there.

There was a thread several months back on an LEO forum where one LEO asked this question. About half the officers said it made no difference to them and had no impact on whether or not they got a warning. My personal experience is 5 warnings with an RD in plain view, 1 cite (its now hidden).
