Default Veil G4 over Lamin-x protective film?

Hi all,I am planning on purchasing Lamin-x protective film for my headlights and foglights to protect them. Has anyone applied Veil G4 overtop of Lamin-X or a similar product? Results / problems?

^ To the best of my knowledge, yes, this has been proposed (Lamin-X, RockBlocker, ClearGuard, etc.), but no-one has yet tested such a setup.

My worries are along the following areas:

    (1) if the film is not perfectly smooth (i.e. "exposed" RockBlocker and ClearGuard vinyls, I know, can carry surface imperfections, from debris hits, etc., over time), I would imagine that this would make VEIL application slightly harder....

    (2) in auto-lighting enthusiast circles, there's often a reluctance to use such films over headlamps that carry an overwattage incandescent lighting solution, for fear that the film may trap more heat, and thus cause thermal damage to either the lens/optics of the lighting assembly, or even the bulb capsule and electronics....will adding VEIL overtop further compound such?

    (3) can there be a "border effect?" - to-wit, wearing contacts is not permissible in certain laboratory situations, for fear that any splash-injury may be compounded by the "trapping" capabilities of the contacts, on the surface of the eye.... does this play out to VEIL and such covering/overlay films, and what your underlying headlamp housing/lens may be exposed to?

    (4) what will happen to the underlying film/overlay when harsh chemicals are used to remove VEIL - and this again also includes concerns, as with #3, of the underlyaing surface.

Certainly, I can also see several advantages to applying VEIL in this manner - and the one that comes off the top of my head is the ease of VEIL removal - but no, to the best of my knowledge, this is currently only theoretical, and no-one has tried it, yet.

Better you than me, lol! But I do appreciate it. I want to Lamin-X my lenses too. It seems that it would work just as well as it would on glass or highly polished plastic. Neither are particularly porous.

hmmm... A guy tried it on here recently and it ruined the protectant. I'll have to see if I can find the thread. Cost him several grand if I remember.

No kidding! I don't even see how that is possible, unless the guy had the full-body Lamin-X coverage and tried to Veil his whole car.
