This just isn't true. I have a film on my car headlights/fogs right now. Called Xpel (www.xpel.com). I've had it on 2 of my cars, no problems forming to the curvatures of the lights. I even applied it my self to my STI.

These films have 3-4 layers. Simply make the Veiled impregnated layer on top, and there should be no problem.

Clearer would only make it harder to decide when reapplication was necessary.

Plus, the point of my thread was to do away 1) w/ re-application, 2) knowing how much to apply, and 3) streaking. Making it clearer really solves none of these, but a Veil impregnated film does.

Yes it is. Tint and Xpel are two separate things. Xpel is a urethane film.

As to impregnating Veil on a Xpel type product no one here can say, as we are not privy to Veils internal characteristics. They don't make it for my car so I can't experiment with it. If and when they ever make it for my car I would be more than happy testing it with veil

Since you already have Xpel, why not add Veil to it and tell us how it works?

Apparently you were referring to window tint type films, I was referring to tinted film, or the Xpel/3m type films made for lights.

I know no one car say...the point of the thread is to suggest someone on the Veil or 3M/Xpel side look into it. It seems like such a logical next step for Veil, and takes care of nearly all the product downfalls.

My wife would not be happy about me ruining the Xpel job on her new car. She hates the tinted headlight look. I don't have any on my current car.

But, I have personally brought this idea up to Xpel.

    Yes, it does.

I'm sure the guys at Veil appreciate that.

Search "clear bra" here. Bottom line is, don't do it.

I am still interested in the film Languy99. Let us know when you get it working.

Why not make a generic film that tint shops can cut to fit and apply? Tint shops are experienced at cutting generic films to fit and can do the job cheaply. I am wary of installing VEIL on my car too, but if there was a film I would definitely have it professionally installed

Let me tell why a film is hard to do. The main reason is because the IR dye that is used to block/absorb the light is very sensitive to mixing with plastics and casting into a film. Right now a film would really be a trade off how well it works at blocking laser and personally I would have it block laser well and just apply it with a spray gun.

I would also do VEIL if it came in a film.
