Not sure about the performance effect but having headlight sprayers WILL make it look like crap. I also found that, when attempting to powerwash bugs off my headlights, the veil started to come off. Thats after 3 days of applying in a heated underground parking garage with an additional week of no rain/snow driving. It does not come off, mind you, and likely still works. Its just looks "stained" and rather ugly. The "stained" areas are lighter, likely due to the outer bit of veil coming off.

Of course, you could just put water in your washer fluid tank. That should not affect the veil at all. But its not an option for me, it would freeze in winter. Plus the powerwashing taking it off issue. I think it works, and I think its a fine product. Looks great after a nice 48 hour drying time. But my climate is too harsh for it to look nice, too much abuse by rain/snow/salt. And I NEED my car clean. Don't have to time to keep the veil looking nice when I need to powerwash the headlights due to bugs or snow. I don't speed in the city so, for me, the maintenance is not worth it.

I honestly don't know how LaminX, or any other such "film" protectant (RockBlocker, ClearGuard, etc.), may do over on top of VEIL.

Applied via brushstrokes (either foam pad or the included "hair" brush), VEIL won't be smooth enough to allow for the overlying film, I imagine (I've applied this kind of film before, many times, but not over VEIL, which is why that qualifier), to lay flat and without air-bubbles.

Applied via airbrush or via HPLV professional paint-gun (i.e. djrams80's setup), the surface looks smoother, but I dunno.....

There's also the possibility that the squeegeeing of application lubricant/fluid for the film may cause enough physical trauma to the VEIL coating to "rip" it, per-se.

    I just don't know.

Here's the veil over the Lamin-x thread
    http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...ve-film-4.html

Veil under Lamin-x I suspect will have a similar outcome.

I've got lamin-x on my car, the top of the lamin-x is a very glossy finish, I do suspect that even if you can get veil under lamin-x without it going purple, that you'd be cutting out the reflection of IR from the projectors but replacing it with reflection of the IR from the Lamin-x still providing you wiht a very hot IR relfection.

ontop of all that apparently film wont stick over veil

here's some more on passive LIDAR alternatives, talking about plates but might be adaptable for you...
