Just because a tint is "dark" in the VIS, doesn't mean that it's dark in the IR.
That's the problem with tinting. It's generally only effective in the VIS spectrum, and not the IR.
Oftentimes, something that looks dark in the VIS, looks totally colorless (transparent) in the IR.
