    Haha.

    Tell me about it.

But just like happya$$ I am testing VEIL's durability

In otherwords, I am too darn lazy to wash it.

Besides, I think, the crud helps with laser stealthiness since I have metallic paint.

    Does that get me off?

My vette on the otherhand is stored in the winter time!

I used to garage the Bimmer, but my wife oftentimes is out on the road first in the early morning and I figured its better for her to have the priority to the open garage bay!

Besides, to be honest with you, I got nailed with three tickets just after my return from my trip out West all in one day!

Local PA police use electronic speed measurement (VASCAR) techniques and I hit the trifecta as I was driving to upstate PA through a lot of coal mining towns (like Ashland and Centralia, which is still burning.)

One of the officers had mentioned that he noticed that I was driving a real shiny BMW through town. Oops. I have to appear in court (for all three) next week. I don't think I am going to wash it until after. ops:

Automobile magazine actually suggested not washing your car to make it harder to get a laser reading.

My plate seems to be getting more and more purple. I'm going to try soaking it in a tray of rubbing alcohol tomorrow and see what I end up with.

    All right.

One ticket down and two to go...

We had a taste of spring today with upper 60s so I cleaned my baby and took a couple of shots.

Here's one now that she's clean!

Wow you got three tickets! I told you that VASCAR is lethal. Pray that local officers will be given the authority to use laser and radar not just troopers. I told you all I would rather face laser and radar ANY day over the lethal and deadly VASCAR. The latest VASCAR technology makes it VERY easy for the offiver to use.

Shouldn't be a problem if you check your rear view a lot though, no? I assume they have to be somewhat close, since if they are far away they won't be able to judge a change in distance very well.

Hey - I'm no expert at this stuff - and until 5 minutes ago, I didn't even know what VEIL was - but I just had a thought -

You're doing this to hide from Laser, Right? And lasers are light signals - so they have to be directional. So why don't you just stick something about a 1/2 inch thick behind the top part of your plates? This will position your plates at about a 5 degree downward angle - and any laser striking your plate will be deflected into the ground within about 20-30 feet. No?

The only time it wouldn't work is if you were on top of a hill, starting to make a downward descent - and the cop were someplace between the top and the bottom of the hill.

On second thought, you should put the inserts on either the right or left side of the plate. What do you think - am I nuts?

It's a good idea but foiled by retroreflective paint. No matter where the plate is facing, the light is returned in the direction from which it came. Unfortunately no amount of tilt would do any good. It might work for those few plates without retroreflective paint if the return from the raised numbering isn't too strong.

I did the photocopy thing on Ont plates behind a plastic cover. Its impossible to tell without removing the plastic cover.

Is there anything I can apply to plastic cover short of a bra. I took a flash picture of my front end and got quite a bit of reflection off of the bumper area around the plate.

I've got Veil just waiting for warmer weather to apply
