Your white minivan will be easy pickings for a laser toting LEO, Veil or no Veil. White is the worst color for defense against laser. Most minivans have large frontal areas which make for easy speed readings. You need a jammer. I'd suggest renting a laser gun so that you can see for yourself just how easy it is to get speed readings on a minivan.
On a side note, from my experience, a windshield mounted radar detector will detect a LEO's laser shot maybe 60-70 percent of the time. The rest of the time, it's dead silence. if you don't know you've been shot, you won't even know to slow down, so any delay in the LEO's speed reading becomes irrelevant.
