VEIL on a license plate

Is it possible to apply VEIL directly on a license plate, or would I have to use a cover. Does anyone know the CT laws for license plate covers?

Don't apply veil directly to the plate. It looks terrible and leaves a pale pink stain when removed (trust me). License plate covers are illegal in CT and I don't think I would use a Veil'd cover since it would be pretty dark. The answer is a lasershield (Roy carries them) because they are very difficult to see unless you are standing right in front of the vehicle. That's what I have been using in CT and other parts of the northeast with no problems so far.

I too live in CT. Covers are illegal in the state. I did apply a very thin coat of veil to the place, leaving Connecticut and constitutiion without veil. I the put a laser shield over it. It is dark, but not terrible. NOW..
I just got back from a ski trip up to Sugarloaf, ME. As soon as I got onto 95N last friday, just before exit 92 I saw a car hit the brake lights way up ahead. I was doing 80 in a 65. All of a sudden My x50 went laser bonkers. I hit the brakes very hard, then saw the guy parked way up ahead. No ticket. I have a black audi, with veil on the headlights and crome, as well as a laser shield.

THen, later in the day on 95N in Me, folks were cruising up a very boring part of the highway. I found my rabbit, actually two of them doing 90-95. I follewed about 200 feet behind, We hit a laser speed trap just before augusta involving 5 police cars. I got the laser alert before any of the others even saw the police, hidden under a bridge were two cars lasering and up a half of a mile were 3 cruisers pulling folks over. The other two guys were already nailed, and got pulled over. I was doing 90 when the alert went off, crushed the brakes and again did not get a ticket. No problem with the laser shield. I was wondering how good the shield and veil are. Now i know. I was VERY lucky up in ME because I was booking. However, these two work great and actually make the laser alert on the detector somewhat useful. I mount the detector only about 4 inches off the dash in order to try to get more laser sens. I can't wait for the weather to warm up for a new coat. It has chipped off of the crome..

Covers are illegal in NY as well but VEIL directly on the licence plate is way more noticable than just my Lasershield on the plate

definately go for the lasershield. its barely noticeable at all. plate covers are illegal where i am and i've never heard of anyone getting a ticket for just that. they might get you if you were speeding but i doubt it.

Would using LaserShield alone be enough to reduce lidar relectivity? Or both together would achieve better result?

The laser shield is an amazing product! People can't even tell you have it on your front plate. Put Veil on your headlights, but don't put Veil on your plate or on a cover. Oh, and don't put a laser shield on your rear plate because if a cop was right behind you he would be able to tell at that distance.

Laser Shield is quite obvious, Dilip got in trouble for having it on his front plate, and ended up having to go for full government vehicle inspection because of it!
