Default Suffolk County Highway Patrol (New York)

I was looking over the bands by town thread and it said Suffolk County Highway Patrol: X, likely also K and Ka. I have X trurned off on my detector and deal with suffolk county highway patrol a lot. I had no idea that they use X band can anyone confirm this. I will not be around there for a few weeks but i drive there all the time during the summer so this is a major worry for me. Next time i drive ther ei will turn X band on to see, but i was wondering what your thoughts were on this.
    thanks

There must be some way to see if X band is even approved for use in NY. Maybe it doesn't work like that??? I guess i'll turn on Xband and see what i find.

X band was in the marked, or the black unmarked charger with the spotlight? Not sure if they have the Hemi engine in those.

What part of LI do you drive in? Suffolk and NYPD Highway Patrols use a lot of constant on Ka.

Certain towns in the Hamptons use constant on K band primarily, and also Ka to a lesser extent. Haven't seen Laser yet in LI and hope to keep it that way.

I live in suffolk, but travel all over the NY metro area, I am surprised you have not seen laser yet, it seems to be the most used out here, makes me wonder if they are doing away with radar

I was just hit again with constant on X band on the LIE (exit 63) from a Suffolk County Police Car today, So I would definately keep X band Enabled
