Here's my issue with the "zones"

How many are there and when does he start / stop? (which zones?)
the next zone can't be "used" as the reset isn't that instantaneous.

You mentioned he was using two stopwatches. Maybe that's how?

The Kustom "Sky timer" has a remote stop/start/reset button all in one. I can abng out all three at /near/by the line between two zones, but its surely not THAT accurate......

One zone is 15 sec = 60 MPH. 1320 feet or 440 yards in a sky timer....

Measure the timing marks on the road?

Ohio is infamous among the truckers for its ruthless speed enforcement. I have heard of tickets for 3mph over. It doesn't surprise me that they are using planes to catch speeders. They must make a lot of revenue from tickets.

The must make a lot of revenue from speeders. How else are they paying for all those freakin' planes? I got pulled over in Ohio a few weeks ago on 35 (runs from Columbus SE to Charleston WV) for 81 in a 65. No laser or radar alert, so I assume it was VASCAR. I don't know for sure though as she let me off. I guess it could have been a plane, but it was very early in the morning and not quite light yet. I looked up in the RVM and I could see Crown Vic headlights bearing down on me pretty quickly, so I knew I was had. I had the CC set to 81, so she was dead on right on the speed. I wanted to ask her so badly how she got me, but I knew I was borderline on getting away. So I didn't push it...

Ouch. Nailed at 81. Nice chunk out of the paycheck there. Vascar is a good reason to buy a Bearcat.

I know an Illinois State Trooper who flys one of their spped enforcement Cessnas.

He mentioned that they usually monitor areas that have had quite a few accidents, especially fatalities. Mentioned that they're going to start monitoring I-290/Rt. 53 going through Schaumburg soon because of how crazy it has gotten.

He also mentioned that he usually doesn't bother with anything below 80mph.
