    Default Toronto speed enforcement

What sort of Toronto speed enforcement vehicles have you seen?

    1) Regular marked cruiser (crown vic)
    2) Stealth black crown vic
    3) Black stealth subburban/yukon

Saw a full size black SUV, looked like a Suburban/Yukon, all black with full tints and no marking. Was transmitting constant on Ka, and stopped a car that was beside me on Don Mills south of sheppard.

Never saw this before, except for OPP. The entire lit up like a chrismas tree, with flashing blue led scanners on the side rear pillars.

I do mostly highway driving and I see lots of unmarked OPP crown vics.
Havent seen any unmarked SUV OPP trucks yet though.

In city I see many marked chargers and marked crown vics.

Heres some cars I seen in the area

Did I hear a white Volvo? What fine way to spend our tax dollars, to make our roads more safe.....

I noticed, the Toronto police are changing over to the chargers instead of the crown vic's.

They do a lot of instant on in the west end, but not in central, I wonder why?

OPP only purchase front line vehicles of Crown Vic, Impala, Charger, Tahoe as they are pursuit rated and tested.....any other vehicle would have been donated by a local dealership in that particular area, and is outfitted with lights and radio afterwards, and sometimes gets a striping package and is used solely by the Media Relations Officers....so it is in fact saving "your" tax dollar

What about all the Volvo S70 T5's and 850 T5's (earlier) the OPP and SQ (and some other Canuck agencies) bought at about $45k apeice? They were made in Halifax and they had a special police package for them. They were pretty kickass cars at the time too, they'd pull 250 km/h (the fastest cars made in Canada after the V8 Firebirds/Camaro) and leave the Vics in the dust (though with lightbars who knows).

Mind you an advantage to the Volvos were the resale value was much higher than a Vic or Impala and Volvo was trying to push "300 000 km" service life. But I don't see them anymore so that probably wasn't true in practice. I'm talking late 1990's here.

I also remember those OPP Mercedes ML 320's. No way those were rated for pursuits or whatever but I have seen a lot of them.

I admire your knowledge my friend , good to keep tracks of these stuff anyway i have another question for you all .... kinda off topic but i though since most of you all are from ontario or Canada so here is my question

I know for the fact that 100 km/ph is that PSL for most of the Ontario or from Windsor to Markham .... wondering how much over any one can drive which is safe for a driver without getting busted ?

i mean can i do 120 on 100 cuz i keep it safe when i know i have a k band around me or driving right next to me so i keep it 110 km but what would be safe limit ?
