Hey IamDatDude, havn't talked to you yet so welcome to the board and glad you're happy with your V1. I live in Spring but drive through Houston to Galveston to get to work when I'm in town.

Ericonphoenix is in the Houston area as well. There are some others but I can't remember there names off the top of my head.
Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."

-V1 3.872 (1.3 Mi. C/O Ka pointed away from me. 3.6 Mi. C/O K)-Bel RX65 New Backup (4.1 Mi. C/O Ka 35.494 Ghz, light traffic) -Laser Interceptor Gen-8 Dual (No saves yet ) -Bel 980. -Galaxy DX 959 with a peak and tune.
-Wilson Lil' Wil antennae. -Whistler 1585. -Whistler 1430. -Passort 3200 w/ 1000 laser detector (got stolen, bought one off ebay for nostalga).
-Cobra Trapshooter RD-31XX? (Can't remember silver/teardrop shape X, K only). -Cobra Trapshooter RD-3110 (my first RD in 1987, when Cobras were good, bought one off ebay for nostalga new in the box). -Kustom HAWK. -Kustom Falcon cordless K Band. -Kustom Talon.

I work in Houston a lot. The Beltway 8 and I-45 area is the one I drive in the most.

Hey edweird, so...how do you like Houston traffic! Especially on I45. What part of Houston do you work when you here? North, South, East, West side, or downtown? I live just North of Houston city limits four miles east of I45 off of exit 68. I hope you enjoy your time while working in Houston, take care.

Thanks Ray... I actually stay close to JSC so "technically" I'm in Houston but really in the middle of Webster, League City, and Nassau Bay. I work downtown so I get to deal with all of the great Houston I45 traffic every morning and afternoon.

Anyway, glad to have the V1 and it has saved me a couple of times. I've noticed that HPD is pretty sneaky with their Laser use on I45 around Fuqua and Almeda Genoa, but mainly on the feeder. They like to hide behind large marquees along the road and shoot out of their window at oncoming traffic. I was stopped along the feeder before (prior to the V1) as I thought the PSL there was the same as what's out by me.

Also, if you ever go through Seabrook to Pasadena via Bay Area Blvd you'll likey see Pasadena PD using Laser right after Armond Bayou. One guy shoots traffic and points them to the park parking lot where another guy is writing tix. They usually pull this in the mornings but I've seen them later in the day as well. I don't really know what Laser they're using, though.

I drive straight down I45 to Galveston. I have seen HPD on the left hand shoulder shooting Laser near Beltway 8. I got popped before. I saw the officer, my RD went "LASER!" and he got me. I have noticed Galveston county working I45 hard as well. They sit on the down side of an overpass running Ka Band.

It varies depending on the trip, but mostly the IAH-Greenspoint-Woodlands-Tomball areas on the North side of town, and occasionally downtown or the Galleria area.

Houston traffic is whack. I try to stay in a hotel as close to where I am working as possible. I have an EZ-Pass, and use the Hardy Toll road as an alternative to I-45 when ever I can.

Your right in the neck of my woods. About half of the planes taking off and landing at IAH flys right over my house. I take the Hardy Toll road every morning. If you know the area enough, the closest cross roads where I live is Aldine Westfield and Cypresswood.

And your right, the traffic is whacked!

x the largest number you can think of.

And, unfortunately, with all of the people coming to Houston and all of the new home and apartment construction the traffic will get even worse..

You know not that I admit it but I was watching PBS the other day and they were talking all about Texas traffic. They were showing Houston's traffic center. It was really cool. I think they said there was even a police console so if they saw a wreck they could dispatch police asap.

Then they went on to either say that Dallas or all of Texas is over 25 years behind the times. I would say that is so true. Everywhere I go I don't see traffic like I see here.
