I don't live in CT but grew up there, and I drive through fairly often.
In the past 2-3 years state police I have seen 100% laser. I think that also encourages towns to go laser sooner than others as well.
I see constant KA on local police cars driving around. On the highways it seems to be always laser, sometimes KA. I've been hit by K from cars pulled over on the side of local backroads.
This weekend I again passed two laser traps in CT, this time both were by brand new unmarked black Dodge Chargers.
CT troopers use laser almost exclusively and its been that way for a while. I haven't gotten a good look at the unit because I usually pass them at night. Vehicles on I91 between exits 33 and 49 usually consist of marked and unmarked Vics, unmaked Expeditions and Explorers, unmarked Magnums and Impalas, and the old faithful Camaros.
Town cops in Avon, Farmington, and Simsbury use laser, K, and Ka band. West Hartford uses mostly laser. Hartford uses laser traps on side streets around downtown. Bloomfield and Windsor are two VERY high ticket towns who primarily use K and Ka band. They have a few laser units in operation. South Windsor, Windsor Locks and Suffield use K and Ka. All radar units are mounted outside the cruiser usually on the rear windows. I have not encountered Pop or IO ever in this state. I have never encountered X band use.
On the highway, you probably won't be targeted unless you're doing 15 or more over the limit. Be wary of the end of the month as always. And be more afraid of the Mass staties once you leave CT. Especially on 84e entering Sturbridge between exits 1 and 2. Deadly location with troopers hidden by the guardrail. I believe they use LA in stealth mode at that spot. Drive safe.
