Default My City #2 In Speed Traps!

So Colorado Springs moved UP on the NMA's listing of speed traps, from 6th in the nation to 2nd. That's PATHETIC. There's no reason that a town of 400K people should be that high in the nation in speed traps reported.

    Ridiculous.

Keep in mind that just figures in how many times people have put a listing on speedtrap.org. There could be one person listing every single individual location he's ever seen a cop parked, even if the cop wasn't actively monitoring traffic.

If they had actual ticket statistics in conjunction with the sighting reports, then it would be more meaningful. As it stands, its not exactly a scientific survey.

What the deuce?! Orlando dropped to fourth. Weren't they number one? No wonder I never see anything when I drive around. I guess the city is "prospering."

I don't know, NMA. I know that having a new RD you want to test almost guarantees you won't see a speedtrap.

Yes, but the study that put us 6th a couple of years ago took into account the number of tickets issued and the revenue generated in a year. I believe they issued something like 46K tickets that year. That's like ticketing everyone who lives here once a year.

Especially in the COSMIX construction zone, where they dress like construction workers and put their laser on tripods to look like surveyor equipment.

Those small towns in Oklahoma should be posted in the top 10 speed traps. Watch the video about how many tickets they write. It is rediculous how city pd are even going onto state highways to do so.
