I am using V1 latest version. I got flash by photo camera box while I was driving from Tuen Mun to Tsuen Wan 2 days agao. My V1 did not alert me.

Are there change in use of the frequency used in HK and it makes the V1 not reliable in Hong Kong? Any comment?

oh wow, u guys still remember me??? i'm honoured! i haven't been here in so long.

    HKdiver:

It's a very long story but to put it short.... some of the older V1's with euromode, dont scan wide enough to cover the "out of tune" multanova radars in HK. I had this problem too.

You see, normally the V1 will always pick up our radars here, but because the radars are so poorly maintained by HK police, it falls out of tune, and its radar frequency drops below the scanning range of the V1 Euro mode.

I spoke to valentine about this long time ago, and from what i learnt, recently the newer V1s they have updated their software so that it will tacklet his problem.

The only solution for you, is to send your V1 back to Valentine and get them to update the software. Then everything will be fine.

    good luck

    Dilip, thanks for your information.

I got my V1 just 3 months ago. I think it must be the most updated one. I will check the version and talk to V1 for more information.

How to tackle the problem of "out of tune"?

To tackle out of tune photoradar, just switch it to "normal" mode, instead of Euromode. As you know, though, it will not give you the same range. But having it in "normal" is the only way of not missing any out of tune guns.

What is the actual different in coverage of the frequency in Euro and Normal mode? Thanks1

    Hello.

Philip: hey! haha, good luck with your veil. I'm sure it will give you some protection from laser at long distances if you protect your license plate as well.

    HKdiver:
Did you get your V1 directly from Valentine? Because if you bought it through some other 3rd party, it may not really be new. Pls check what version it is.

If you use normal mode, it won't give you enough warning time. You must use "U" mode.
