I had not seen too much laser in eastern MA, but read somewhere that the MA state troopers were getting 400 new laser guns.

Is this true?

Anyone know what type they are getting?

I haven't heard it but easily believe it, they are already mostly laser.

further, I guess not only was my x50 giving me multiple annoying laser falses, but it wasn't even detecting real ones.

About a month ago I shut off laser detection as I had never had a true laser alert.

I thought MA troopers were not using them until I read that they were getting 400 of them. So rather than wasting $80 bucks to have Escort fix my x50 by just putting the lastest software on it (probably to have it soon starting falsing again) rather than actually fixing the problem, I got a V1.

A week ago I was NB on 128 at East Street in early morning rush hour and saw a LEO on foot on the overpass. He looked like he was pointing something SB but I was going to fast in the far left breakdown lane to tell. I didn't get any alerts.

Today I was NB on 128 and saw a statie crown vic sitting hihg up at on the SB Ponkapoag on ramp. If I was speeding SB and he was operating, I think I would have been toast as the ramp is well above the road level and based on the latest GOL testing I doubt my V1 has that much off axis detection. I got no alerts NB.

I got hit with Laser on Rt 9 in the Framingham area by a State trooper several years ago. Traffic was heavy, and I didn't see anyone getting pulled over. Either they have had these for a long time, or that was just a test.

Is X-band being used in Mass at all anymore? Can I confidently turn off X-band detection on my V1?

I see Laser used a lot on RT 2 especially in Central and Western regions.

I do not see much Laser in eastern areas of RT 2 but that may change.

RT 495 still uses mostly radar.

I have seen laser on RT 2 between Alewife and 95. I have seen them both on the inbound and outbound sides of RT 2 and they usually wait at the bottoms of the hills and get people as they come over the crest. In the last 6 months I saw them shooting laser at inbound morning traffic maybe 2 times and in the same period I saw 1 event of morning laser on outbound traffic.

More than a year ago I saw them using laser on outbound 93, maybe a mile before you hit 95.
