During one of my runs to SA back in the early 90s I had a unmarked Camaro come up behind me with blue and red lights on the dash. I took off on him. Never heard anything more about it. He hung for a while but after 120 he started falling way back. I never changed my travel plans either. Just kept heading East. I had my story ready though. "Some redneck with police lights was trying to trick me into pulling over so he could jack my ride"

    Silver 1979 Mazda RX7. Between 1986 and 1992 I added the following:
Rotary Engineering's 13B Rotary race engine. Pulled the dual weber carbs and installed a Halteck injection kit.
Performance exhaust, lightened flywheel and performance clutch.

extras. Black center Riken 15" rims with 225 x 15 Falken VRs
Performance short springs and KB struts all around. Thicker rear anti-sway bar. New performance bushings on all suspension mounts.
    Font strut reinforcment brace
9" front rotors 7" rears with stainless steel brake lines
Momo stickshif and steering wheel and two flowfit racing seats.

The speedo only went to 130 but I could get the needle to hit the "m" in mph so we estimated it to be about 145.

The Camaro you encountered probably had the 3.4L SFI in it. The version had less horsepower than the 1999-2005 Pontiac Grand Am's.

My department just got several chargers, we're testing it out since we need to replace couple of our over milage vics.

Here's a marked one. It's not quite done yet, still needs a lightbar.

We also have a black unmarked one.

Seattle PD just got chargers as well. A fellow friend of mine took these photos.

In MD (AA county) for the last 6 years or so they have been big on unmarked cars with blacked out windows and LED lights in the rear windows and on sunvisors. Basically a civilian looking vehicle except blacked out lights, and usually with alloy wheels (no steel wheels). I got a call from my dad yesterday saying he just saw the new black dodge charger unmarked! He said black exterior, blacked out windows, alloy wheels, bright led lights in the rear windows, bright led's in the grill and right under the visors, head and tail-light strobes. He said during the day this looks like vegas, and during the day it has to be insane. Looks like they are still at it in MD.
