    Default X-Band confirmed in Wisconsin!!

Town of Bolder Junction, a brand new ford F-150 police truck running constant-on moving X-band.

I was out in the middle of nowhere, getting a steady ramp-up of X on my V-1, I was kinda confused as to what was causing it considering I was 5 miles from the nearest house, building or retail location of any kind.

So here comes a truck heading towards me, as it goes by the arrows switch from front to rear, and the side & tailgate of the truck are lettered "Boulder Junction Police department" and the lights were hidden behind the grill and in the rear window

So, all you peeps that turn off your "X" band, be careful in northern WI.

I left X active for that very reason! little dinky towns using old equipment!

I don't know how many people in this forum really drive within that WI town limits, not that you cannot visit Bolder Junction and stay at the local Holiday Inn

the reason I posted this is because several people turn off "X" on their detectors.

it is alive & well and deadly if you disable that band. I bet at least every state in the country still has a few smaller cities still using X. Just cuz the staties aren;t using it, does not mean it isn't being used.

I will never turn off X band for that reason. My town only uses KA so I TrueLock out X band there. Because TrueLock only locks out that area X band is still enabled on my trips up north to smaller towns.

Depends on where you live. In some states, it is safe to turn off X band. Pennsylvania is a good example. Nobody in PA uses X band. All the locals cannot use any radar, and the staties use K/Ka.

This has been talked about before and I always appreciate is when x band comes up. OH,IN,NJ,NC,IL,WI,MN,OR,MI,CO,NY,TN,MO,KY, and parts of Northern Ontario still use X band radar. Just remember, it is those small towns which still prefer X band being used and it's always when you least expect it! The gun I'm holding in my pic is an X band radar gun.

Ok here its ... i just completed my 1500 mile trip for this weekend [ wi -Toronto - wi ] .... ** wtf** @ 401 few weeks ago i got x band alert and then i saw an opp squad car so i said to myself " naah " it cant be and i moved on ....last night i read this thread and was curious ... so i tuned my STI's " X-band" and started driving .... @ Woodstock , ON i started getting " X-band " and then right after a mile or 2 i see an un-marked " Black " Crown Vic running x band and its affirmative that it was the only one because as i was passing..this cruiser.. my STI was yelling with X band .... now i am concerned ... we all need to re-iterate the x-band policy ... question is ... where and which state we should keep the x-band off ... MY V1's X band is OFF for quit some time .... this is upsetting for me

Too bad there isn’t a way to automatically turn off X band in certain areas and automatically turn it on in outers...

    O wait! The 9500I does that 8)

very nice .... for some reason it sounded like " in your face " Lol

anyway .. i am sure 9500 does a good job but wait a minute it will get detected by RDD in ontario .

or way better one .... STI does a great stealth job :-)

..so the next assignment for passport 9500i would be to get stealth technology ....
