I-93 between Boston and NH

I commute to boston 5 days a week from the Methuen area and I've noticed in the past week or two that theres been a lot more state troopers out and frequently see cars pulled over. Moreso on my commute home, which is usually around midnight.

I have no idea since thankfully I haven't been pulled over. All I know is that I've been seeing more cops on 93 and more cars pulled over within the past 2 weeks.

Yeah, they have their little blitzes and then everything goes back to normal (free-for-all, I call it).

Actually, the blitz may be here to stay. Gov. Cadillac Patrick wants to fund budge shortfalls partially with "revenue" generated by the MA SP and is also considering tolls on 93.

Honest, he was up front about it.

seen a ton of stateys in NH and mass on the way home from NH this past weekend.. they are out there full force cause of the college break most likely..

indeed, on route 2 there are spots where the troopers cluster for informal 'toll collection'. When i think about the fact that there are so many students in MA, it becomes clear to me why they make the driving age 16-they are doing everything possible to maximize revenue and safety-a win-win scenario in their minds. is it illegal to perform spot checks for alcohol intoxication and drugs? now there's an untapped revenue stream.
