Default Texas DPS using smooth cars (confirmed)

I mentioned one day that I saw a state trooper on George Bush with someone pulled over. He was in a Crown Vic dark in color. Well I have confirmed this for sure. This morning I was sitting at a light just off the George Bush Turnpike and an unmarked crown vic pulled up next to me. I had the computer on with the weather radar screen up.

The crown vic's passenger window comes down and what do you know. It's a Texas State Trooper with lights in the window and a ka antenna on the dash. He asked me if it was going to rain and I said I hope so. The light turned green and he took off. Also he had a long antenna on the back like some of the regular DPS cars. So, just thought I would through that out there. Next time you get pulled over and think it might be a citty kitty well it just might be a state trooper.

Last I heard, only supervisors drove unmarked cars for Texas DPS-Highway Patrol. You didn't, by chance, notice stripes on his sleeve, did you?

You said dark color. Black? Blue?

Sounds like me and my camera need to take another trip to Austin.

No I didn't see it. He was back from me just a little and when he leaned forward to ask me about the weather I saw that he was DPS and then I looked over at the stalker radar unit and then over to my computer screen. Then as fast as he asked the light turned green.

I am not sure what color it was. It was just a dark color. Not black. It could have been a really dark blue or dark purple.
