Northshore of New Orleans - Speed trap or not?

Hi Guys,

In Slidell La. traveling on I-10 towards the twin span bridge my wife was approaching the new Business Hwy 190 exit that opened a few months ago, and she noticed at the last second a leo hiding on the side the exit. Just as she seen him she got a Laser beeping signal on her Whistler Pro78. She was going 69 mph at the time in a 60 mph zone, but on the other side the overpass it goes down to 50 mph. She was expecting to see leo's on the other side the overpass waiting to chase down cars after the leo who hit her with laser radioed the speed to them on the other side. This happens on I-12 in Slidell by the Hwy 434 exit all the time. However this time to her surprise there was no leo's on the other side this overpass. However, when she approached the overpass she seen a flat bed truck on top the front of the exit, and then she happened to look in her rear-view mirror and seen one of those white camera vans on top of the on the back side of the overpass after she went under it.

My question to you guys is this:

What do you think was going on that day, and do you think that a camera in the van took her license plate number and she can expect a ticket to be coming in the mail soon?

I was hoping someone here could help me, but I guess nobody here has ever run into this situation before.

I travel that way often and have not seen that particular set up. I would be curious to see if she receives a mail ticket, but I doubt it. She probably got hit with laser and he didn't come after her because she wasn't a big enough fish. He was probably looking for 10+ over the PSL.
