Law Enforcement vehicles by state

Outstanding post Freerunner. May I thieve on this post for my website? I want to have a running list of unmarked cars by state with pix where applicable.

Please feel free, hopefully more people will start chiming in with their local vehicles, the more information we can get out to people like us, the better. You don't want to fly past any undercover Dodge Durangos. When I get some free time I am going to use google images and add in a lot of areas.

In the Roanoke, VA area i have seen a dark Gray Charger (known to have spectra) and a maroon Dodge Charger. Both slicktops.

NOTE: All PA State Police Vehicles have Blue Municipal Front Plates. AKA: If you see a front plate, it's either a PSP vehicle or a state vehicle (difference is pretty obvious.) Most undercover cars I've seen also have the blue plates (but some don't.)

State Police:
Mostly Crown Victorias with skinny lightbars. Navy Blue with Gold Lettering. Most do not have pushbars on the front.

I have also seen them use Dodge Durangos, especially on 95. I'm not sure if these guys pull over only trucks, though. The ones I have seen do not have lightbars.

New Castle County:

They use the same types of cars as DE State Police.

Crown Victoria:
All white, with county patrol on the side. Most DO NOT have pushbars (from what I've seen). Some have big domed lights, some have lightbars. Depends on the location.


Durango:
Seen one of these before. They are all white, and have lightbars, unlike the DE versions. I have never seen one that was undercover.

Georgia State Patrol also has marked Chargers in the gray/blue combo (some with lightbars, some without), a few marked BMW 3's in the blue/gray combo (all with lightbars), and several white, gray, and black Chevy Tahoe's that are marked without lightbars.

Marked (colors: Black and Tan)

• Crown Victoria, light bar V shaped blue-white light bar (34.7, 35.5 Ka), as well as clear light bar (35.5 Ka)
• Crown Victora, without light bar (slick top)
• Charger, clear light bar
• Tahoe, light bar (I think clear)
• Camaro, light bar, though these are getting phased out I think
• Motorcycles, Harley I think
• F250, clear light bar

Unmarked

• Crown Victoria, any color, usually tinted windows make the light bars hard to see. I've seen red and grey.
• Chargers, I'd assume any color, though I've only see dark blue with heavy tint.

More info: state owned vehicles have blue plates with 5 numbers followed by "-PA." Vehicles owned/operated by county/municipal government have blue plates that start with "MG-" then numbers.

In my experience, unmarked PSP vehicles have one standard looking PA tag mounted in the rear. Unmarked local police vehicles almost always have the blue "MG-" tags mounted front and rear. An exception would be vehicles used by regional drug task forces for actual undercover use.
