When you say "1 hour west" is that when traffic is good or during rush hour?
Just wondering because sometimes I live about an hour and a half west.......other times it more like 4hrs west!

so true. I'm not even sure how far I am maybe 30 miles west
drive times well......
the pro 78 is good if your looking for a less expensive detector but me I would get the V1. I love mine best detector I have ever owned and I have owned many over the years.
the only thing is I wish the V1 was spectra proof like the STI because I travel to Canada for work.

I'm in a NW burb of Chicago, about 45 minutes to 3 hours out. Darned if I can find "Chicagoland" listed on any map, though...
I have the BEL STI. Very good overall. If I buy another RD for my other car it will probably be a V1.
