Question Laser bands used in Manitoba(Canada)

Hi there guys, I have just purchased a Passport 8500 x50...but as i'm finding out more and more..it may not be the proper detector for me by region. I know the RCMP have spectre and still use VG-2 "asked a friend that has a RCMP dad". Depending on the car they are in...plus they are updating all the time. I am just wondering if anyone has some first hand knowledge of what Laser bands the police are using in Manitoba. I recently recieved a ticket from a police officer hiding on his bike behind some tree's and would like some protection...i'm positive the cop was using a Ultralyte or Prolaser 3 "which i'm SURE the 8500 doesn't cover". So if anyone has any info on what detector to purchase for the threats in Manitoba it woudl be appreciated!

    Thank

You need a STI driver and a good jammer...

Thanks guys, I returned my 8500 x50 today and should have my STi before I go fishing this weekend. I hope it has the proper firmware & I don't have to send it out to Bel for flashing. On Laser bands...do All guns whether it be Pro Laser 3 or Ultralyte Laser, use the laser 904nm, 33 MHz Bandwidth?

To answer your question, I know that all guns use a 904nm Laser...

You keep retorting back to being worried that your detector will not recognize a certain type of laser gun...

A LASER OR RADAR DETECTOR WILL DO NOTHING FOR YOU if you are shot by laser.

maybe 5% of the time you will get lucky and catch some scatter (mostly V1 users) but by the time your detector goes off, The cop already has your speed... You NEED laser jammers if laser is used in your area... Its a trade off. Sure, a RD on its own WILL save you from a few tickets indeed, but a good RD and a good Jammer will save you from any ticket (besides pacing and a good I/O shooter) 90% of the time

Yeah I've been going through the forum and being reading a lot of that. When I was recently caught by a Laser the cop was getting me from pretty far away I figure then last min I saw him and tried to slow down. They set Laser traps here on very long streets and nab 4-5 cars in one hit. I guess I will have to look into laser jammer's. And just hope I can catch some scatter from another unlucky victim....trickets are around $230 for going 15Km over.
