Black lic plates coming to Texas

I wonder how the new black plate option affects lidar reflection:

It wont matter. There is a reflective tint that goes over the whole thing. You should see some vid I took of my plate with sony nightshot (IR) and normal dark. In the normal dark shot you cant even make out the numbers.....with the IR on it is clear as day, actually amazing.
So Im sure the IR from the gun will shining off the plate like a big reflector.

I have had custom plates the last 10 years but I might have to get some black plates & see what I could do with some flat black paint over the reflective paint.

Im trying to find some IR absorbing clear coat, or IR reflecting clear coat.

IR reflecting would only increase LIDAR signature.

I'm definitely ordering these when I get my new car. Something that doesn't look horrible for once.

Put masking tape over the letters, air brush the plate with Veil, then remove the marking tape. Since the Veil is over the black you won't see it, and there's none n the letters to notice!
