Escort, I assume that was the shoulder by the entrance ramp after exit 37 and before exit 36. I checked sign by sign and even the HOV signs on the road and pinned it down to that. I validated that as well on Trapster.

Solid, I've seen the Nassau boys hide in numerous locations, usually on the on ramps; they like to get you from behind. This is also a reason why it's harder for the detector to pick up early Ka band, since it's facing away.

Every ramp, starting 48 to 32 should be a caution zone. It's best just not to speed in Nassau.

Yea I know what you mean. I've only seen them twice at the ramps behind the walls. But they are running Ka only with that?

From my experience, I've only encountered Ka from them several times. I know they also use laser, but they are always positioned weird so not sure how they would be aiming at the cars.

I picked up POP once with my former Redline detector as a Nassau tropper was approaching me from west bound. However, I am not sure if it was a false alert...

It seems the Suffolk sheriffs are starting to do the same thing. Yesterday I saw one hiding on an on ramp near exit 56 watching westbound traffic as I was traveling eastbound.
