It's capable of being used anywhere MPH radar guns are sold. It is not allowed to be used as the sole means to issue a ticket. POP then basically becomes the warning indicator for I/O; officers know this and know that it defeats the purpose of I/O, which means that you'll only really ever see POP used as a marketing tool for detectors, as even MPH is moving to phase out the technology.
I've got a V1, POP on means the V1 is more sensitive to I/O; I/O is increasingly common around here, so with few rabbits, I need to take what advantage I can get. That statement will vary with other detectors, and what people witness and identify as tactics use din their area.
