Anybody from Kentucky by chance?

Hey guys. I was just wondering if anybody has ever seen laser being used in Kentucky. I've read on here that laser is used in Kentucky but I have personally never seen an LEO shooting laser once here. I drive both, interstates and city roads quite frequently but they always seem to be using C/O if anything. But I have seen a few LEO's in my hometown sitting perpendicualr to the road which I didn't get any type of alert on. When a cop is sitting perpendicular to a road wouldn't it be a bit harder for them to get an accurate reading using radar? If so, they could have been using laser or possibly an I/O technique?

Welcome to the forum! I have literally only seen laser one time in my life in KY - outside of Elizabethtown on I65 and that was like 5 years ago. Never have seen in Louisville or anywhere else and I hope it never comes (knock on wood). At the time I had my RD dash mounted (a big no-no) and I did get an alert (not that it would have mattered) but fortunately I was within 10 so he didn't pursue.

Also if they are sitting perpendicular, Id say they are doing paperwork, or have a handheld radar, or laser out the window...

Thanks Dave. That's funny, I actually live in Elizabethtown believe it or not. I've lived in Kentucky all of my life and have never seen anything but C/O being used. I guess that's a good thing though ha.

Don't forget about plenty of ka band around Lexington KY too. Can be sneaky w/ their ka band. I also haven't forgotten about that speed sign going S-bound on I-75 when you cross the bridge from Cincinnati to KY. I believe it's k band. I think Covington KY still uses x band radar if I'm not mistaken? Plenty of ka band around Louisville too.

Yes, I have noticed Ka band is very widely used all around the state now. K band used to be the band of choice by the majority of city cops by me but now a lot have switched over to Ka instead.
