Miami to key west, how do they enforce speed limit on us1?

I am going on my spring break from NY to miami. I have 9500ix and blinder m47 (2fr and 2r)
i will be travling to keywest on march 30th, what should i wach out for on the way?

Your in great shape. Once you get to near south Florida, don't pass certain cars until you confirm it's not a Leo. South Florida has a crap load unmarked chargers, impalas, and vics. The keys makes a boat load of income from people like you. Expect a bunch of k-band in the keys and they aquired some Truspeed.

I drove from South Beach to Key West a few weeks ago on spring break. Did not encounter any LIDAR, only a few radar traps. People drive at the speed limit, very slow and take up both lanes

The Leos in the keys search me over half the time I go. Not for speeding, but for Lobsters. Leos there run a lot of K-band but I do see KA. Good things is that they use C/O.

I can only speak in Florida. Jacksonville fhp uses PL3. from there to Miami, I been hit only with LA. I don't drive in Miami much but members I tested told me they pack ultralyte. No one really speeds in the keys unless they are tourist. If you plan to keep illegal lobsters, under the seat is the best place =)

I was just down there for spring break lots of c/o k and ka only one laser trap the entire time but I wasnt even in my car budy said it was moonroe county sheriff with a la/pl3 he couldnt tell for sure have a fun time down there love the open container policy and cops chilling and smoking stogies on the cornners

You can drive as fast as you want on the Turnpike in Miami-Dade county for the most part--just pay attention.

If you're passing through southbound between 9 and 11 on a weekday morning, keep your eyes peeled for a small aircraft running a VASCAR trap just after the Bird Road Toll which is at MM 19. You'll see the stripes after the toll. The troopers are concealed around a bend and a rise so you won't be able to see them until you're past the stripes.

After you reach the terminus of the Turnpike, take Card Sound Road from Florida City to Key Largo instead of US 1. LINK to googlemap view. It'll eventually spit you onto US 1 (the only way to get to Key West) but for a few miles, you'll be able to really haul ass if you want. It costs $1, and if you want to run it through once at a reasonable speed to make sure there are no LEOs lurking and then turn around and run it again back to the mainland, and then turn around and do it a third time and continue on your way, you wouldn't be the first to spend $3 in this manner...

It's pretty difficult to do anything but drive the same speed as the rest of traffic for most of the drive on US 1. Just be prepared for a 3-4 hour drive and don't expect to be able to cook at all. The only place where you should open it up is on the bridges, but make sure you're going well within the range of the limit when you get off of them--LEOs like to hide right at the end of bridges.
