Default I-81 North (PA) Hanover Street Exits

PSP (K-band) have been sitting after the Hanover Street exits, saw them 3 times ~8am this week. There are K-band drones (at least 2) directly across on the southbound side so that just adds to the game. I guess a V1 would pick up the drones as 2 sources and if you add the PSP it would be 3?

And I think that section is a double-fine "safety corridor"...

You are correct. There are 2 drones one before the arena hub exit and one after if you are traveling south bound. I travel that highway daily so I know what to expect out of the V1. And if you do get 3 bogeys in that area slow down! Lol

And it a safety corridor from the top of the mountain which is about mile marker 160 to a little past Scranton which is about mile marker 186.

I think we are a little confused, is this the Hanover street exit in Carlisle or Scranton or WB or some where else? 81 Goes through both.

Looks like it applies to both LOL! My instance is for Carlisle (Cumberland County). I think there's a Hanover Township up in Luzerne County. I know there are tons of those #%@ drones up there too....grrrr!

I know the cops like to sit south around the Plainfield exit, and there have been a few accidents again this week. I imagine they will be increasing their presences.

PSP (K-band) have been sitting after the Hanover Street exits
Let me guess, approximately 1/4 mile north of the Hanover St exit (47) on the right hand berm right before the long exit ramp for exit 48 starts, correct? A few years ago after they rebuilt the road surface in that area, PennDOT trucked a front-end loader out there and carved a nice chunk out of the embankment and poured some gravel for Troopers to back into.

The other possibility is just before (south of) that on the left hand side behind the little embankment protecting the "holes" in the overpass from errant southbound traffic. That would seem less likely to me as they are currently replacing the overpass bridge structures and decking, although there is some nice heavy equipment they might hide near.

Winner! Haven't seen them in ages there.

Where they've really been sitting...between Newville & Plainfield...one hitting southbound traffic in the u-turn right after the southbound rest area and then one hitting northbound traffic in the next u-turn that is after the northbound rest area. The southbound is just over a slight incline and the northbound is around the corner to the left...both very deadly (to get nailed by radar). A white Volvo flashing his/her headlights saved my @ss northbound about 2 weeks ago.

If they would finish the damn construction there would be fewer accidents, I reckon. That place, in both directions, is a death trap right now.

I had the idea that they could hide there, but realized it wouldn't work when I thought of how they would get out. They'd be pulling directly into the fast lane with no room to accelerate and almost no visibility. A few years ago I would see them hiding behind the mound at the end of exit 45 going south, but they must have encountered the same issues there and haven't been using the spot lately.

Fortunately, in five years of driving in that area, I've only ever seen them use the same spots, just switch up which ones are in use. They're not very creative.
