So I'll be driving to Myrtle beach in march, and I be driving in Pensylvania , virginia, and the Carolinas. I was wondering what type of inforcement I'd run into along way, any hot spots or laws that I should be aware of. Im running Sti driver, not hardwired, and LI quad.

Can you get the Sti driver hardwire because you will be running the risk of leo's seeing it if it's not hardwire up high and other than that you will do good. It have been years since I have been there in Myrtle Beach. I use to live in N.C. as a kid growing up and have gone there just to get away, it bring back old memory.

I've never been, this is going to be my longest drive in the usa, I'm pretty excited. I herd the Carolinas are extremely nice, with some awesome golfing too , thanks for the tips. RDs are banned where I live, I just have been mounting it high, and havnt run into troubles here, but the last thing I need is some trouble in the us.

well you got an M3 antenna so you are all set for VA but still be careful. Enjoy your trip, I've been from one coast to the other and Myrtle Beach is easily in my top five of favorite beaches so enjoy yourself, have fun, and be safe!

I'm under the assumption that you'll be traveling in eastern PA (as opposed to western where I am) so there's people here who can offer more localized advice than I can but as far as Pennsylvania goes in general...

If you stay on the highways you will encounter radar...VASCAR isn't used much on the highways but it's used almost exclusively in the cities and towns outside of the highways.
Most of the radar is K band with low powered guns, you're unlikely to get miles of warning like you might in other states. There's some Ka statewide but not much to speak of.
State Police are the only ones who use radar and they use a lot of I/O from what I see.
LIDAR isn't used as it's not permitted by state law.

Reckless driving citations aren't given much in PA and speeding offenses aren't major unless you're going PSL+30 or more. If you get stopped it will probably be a quick stop, I don't normally see PSP wasting time on the side of the highway, especially since they're in demand and there's not enough troopers to go around. Turnpike Troopers seem to make more traffic stops than Troopers on the other state highways (we have a division who solely work on the Turnpike)... the regular, non-Turnpike Troopers deal with more police issues and accidents...that's just my own observations though.

    Good luck and have fun!

Anybody from SC that can add to this? I'll be going in a couple of months, any info on SC would be great.

Be careful through VA and NC. Both are insane about speeding. VA is reckless driving over 80 (or 20 over) and jail if over 90. VA also has about 20 different reasons they can write you for reckless, no turn signal on a lane change for instance.

NC is a trip to jail if more than 15 over or over 80 as well as a mandatory court appearance and license suspension.

SC is a misdemeanor for possession of jammers.

LI Quad (On Ice Cream Truck)

Really in NC its a trip to jail for anything over 80 ? I never knew that I thought they where just tough on people who have NC drivers liscense and suspend them for anything 15 mph over the PSL.
