    Default ear jack

    hey guys, gotta drama!
on the motorcycle at speed, i get a bit of noise in my helmet, as you do. i don't know why because it's a top range agv? anywho, i can reduce some noise by using an ear plug in cunjunction with the ear piece. however, this is ok, but when your going 40-50kmh over psl, it's down right hard to hear yourself think, let alone my bel sti on it's loudest setting.
    any thoughts?

G'day AM, howz you going mate
Yeah, i don't know what to do. maybe i'm going deaf after so much noise on the bikes over the years, or RD's are getting quiet?
Tried many ear pieces and really, none work to well. Can i have Bel make the STi louder or something?

Ps, i'm trying to hunt down some other photos of my GSXR-1000 from a while ago. I'll keep you posted though

    i hear ya here.

my X50 isn't loud at all going through the earpieces i have.
it could be cheap earpieces though.

one thing is, the output i believe is mono, so i'm only getting sound from one earpiece. i'm going to find a mono to stereo adapter so i can hopefully double the sound.
it's that or find a way to amplify the power out, since i doubt they will have a way to boost the output any more.

now i don't actually have them in my ear, they are tucked in a holder on my helmet.
i also bought some earplugs for long journeys, but haven't used them yet, since i know i'll never hear the alerts as it stands now.

i'm looking into options, do the same and we'll compare notes here.

Well I can give you some options.

    1) You can use a plug that converts a mono signal and converts it to stereo. Obviously 2 is better than one but they dont do much for noise blocking.

    2) The key is to block out the ambient win noise. I know people that use
Shures EC3s and like there blocking noise capability.

    3) You can go custom. Get a ear mold made of you ear canals and have a set made.

Your welcome if you go that route I'd recommend that you get an audiologist to make the impression and send it to them.

well i got an adapter yesterday and it works well.
    sound out of both ears.
i also routed them so i have an earpiece on each side, tucked in the cover on each side, with the speaker facing near my ear.
it's a definite improvement, but i haven't gone on a full highway speed test to see how well it works.
i'm sure it will be better, but too soon to say how much.

    cool link!
those are pricey, but very cool.
