Is anyone using this combo?
When ordering a Vizalert you can specify that it's for an Escort 8500, but does anyone know if that works on a 9500i?

Hmm... I just looked around and it doesn't seem to be compatible with the 9500 series. Surely it would say it on the Cheetah site but it doesn't have that listed under the options.
The H.A.R.D. System is compatible with your 9500i.
i've been using my vizalert with the 9500i the day it came out, using the 8500 x50 setup. it appears to work fine (not perfect, there might be some light-up issues like colors or frequency) but what's important to me is it alerts on k, ka, and laser. there are no guarantees but it's fine for me so far.

I would really like to "like" the Vizalert but I've used mine for 2 years now and its just not reliable. Unless the volume is set at precisely the correct level it will work for the first half of the ride and then start to miss k band (Bel Sti) alerts for me.
I have no confidence in it at the moment
Its a shame because I love the concept and dont want to go back to ear phones.
Maybe the HARD system is the way to go?
I contacted the guys from Cheetah, and their sales rep said they would be making an interface for the Visalert to the Escort 9500 series, but didn't know when it would be available. When I pressed him for a ballpark estimate, he said, " I'm guessing six months."
I also checked on whether the 8500 interface would work for the 9500. He said it might process some alerts, but would not work as advertised.
I do hate to hear your complaints about the system's reliability, Spankyaf. The Visalert was the reason I decided to go that route for jamming.
When the interface for 9500 comes out, I'm still going to give it a shot. I'll report what I find.

guys i'm looking at an email from way back when i first got my 9500i asking about compatibility with the vizalert and i was told the 9500i interface was coming out soon; that was easily a year ago. i could not wait so i've been using the x50 chip and i'm way happy. i can maybe think of one or two times where i looked at my 9500i alerting and the vizalert didn't respond until late. but it has been spot on for a long long time so i'm glad i didn't wait around. i've been particularly impressed with later.
i have an x50 but it's busy and the 9500i is quiet like you really need on a motorcycle, no distractions. personally i wouldn't let the lack of a 9500i interface stop you using vizalert because is so nice (sorry to hear about your troubles spanky) but maybe you can work out a deal with them where they send you the chip later when it becomes available. i keep the volume at full.
