State Upholds Red Light Ruling

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The state Court of Appeals on Tuesday ruled that Guilford County Schools should receive nearly all the proceeds from High Point's red light camera program.

The ruling upheld a Guilford judge's ruling made last year and could keep the cameras shuttered.

High Point and Greensboro stopped using red-light cameras in March 2005 pending the outcome of an appeal. The camera program is used to ticket drivers who drive through red lights.
