FL - Orlando radar Cop run over while attemping flag down

According to investigators, deputies were working radar at the Kirkman/I-4 onramp when Callin stepped out to flag down a white car. The driver of that car allegedly aimed the car at the deputy and hit him.

The officer later died at the hospital, and the Honduran national that ran over him is in custody, facing murder 2 charges.

I also found it incredible that the PD's policy allows officer's to step out into the traffic lanes (apparently even where there's freeway speeds) to flag cars down. They said it was left to the officer's descretion.
