Sacramento Ca. along I-5 is a CHP nightmare. Twice I had the CHP in this area come after me with lights on when I was under the psl. I turned off my V1 after I saw them turn on their lights and come looking for me, I was in a group of cars when I passed him. I shut off my V1 and moved into the slow lane to blend with other cars. The chp then pulled off the road and came back again immediately with lights on after I turned my V1 back on. (then turned it off again)
Just before the next on ramp a chp was in the medium, who had his radar on; I turned off V1 when he came into view, the leo then pulled onto the freeway and followed me for about a one and half miles. It was night time and my V1 was low in the window, and not real visable, and I did not get pulled over.
I don't think radar dectors are illegal in CA, but maybe there is a seperate city ordenance for the area. It was real odd the way the chp reacted to my V1
Thats is very odd. I wonder why they were going after you each time you turned your detector on?
If there is a seperate city ordinance and you get cited for it, I think thats pretty unfair. There are many laws people break that are city laws. How the heck are we supposed to remmember every little cities laws?

I found the behavior odd from the chp. I did not get stopped I believe, because they were not sure it was me. Still it was unnerving. As soon as I saw there lights go on, I shut down. Lucky I was in a group, and coud blend easly.
well is saw that the speed limit in the video was a prima-facie limit not maximunm speed if you going a couple miles over 3-5 they would really have to prove you were in violation of the basic speed law vc22350 and i hope they did the traffic and engeneering survey becuase if they use radar/lidar etc that is considered an illegal speed trap and violates california vc40801,40802,40803,40804,40805 so prima facie are easy to win if you know your stuff in my experience with prima-facie limits almost always there is no survey to justify the speed...
I have a V1 and never had trouble with CHP in Sacramento. As far as I know there is no city ordinance banning radar detectors.
