Default Lawmakers wreck bill to ban blocking plates from cameras

    East Valley Tribune
    1/28/2007

Foes of photo radar won a key victory last week as the Senate Transportation Committee refused to block motorists from hiding their plates from cameras.

Cheuvront said it’s a public safety issue. He cited one incident in his district of a hit-and-run collision in which witnesses were unable to read the license plate of the fleeing vehicle because it had a plastic cover sold by many auto parts stores.

Definitely don't agree with hit and run, but good job by the lawmakers!
