Blanchester police to target neighborhood speeders
Blanchester police will begin running radar in residential neighborhoods this week in an effort to prevent accidents as the weather turns warm and children are outside playing, said Police Chief Scott Reinbolt.
Reinbolt said this effort will continue through the summer.
Drivers are reminded to watch their speed in neighborhoods, especially where the posted speed limit is 25 mph, he said.
"We all get in a hurry and don't stop to think about the consequences," Reinbolt said. "Being late for an appointment might ruin your afternoon, but striking a child could ruin people's lives. We all need to remember to slow down in residential neighborhoods."
