Illinois State Police Target Bad Drivers

(KTVI - myFOXstl.com) -- "You Drink, You Drive, You Lose." It's a hardnosed campaign promoting traffic safety on Illinois highways. This is the first weekend of the coordinated effort to keep travelers safe during the summer holidays by targeting driving violations that impact road safety.

State troopers and local law enforcement officers will be on the lookout for drunk drivers, speeders and people not wearing seat belts. There is also a no tolerance attitude toward speeding in road construction zones.

Federal funding will be used to finance overtime needed to man 33 road side safety checks this month in the metro east.

Driving below the minimum speed limit?

Tailgating?

Stopping at green lights? (No, wait, that only happens in Florida).

Seriously, yay for stopping drunk drivers. Boo for ignoring everyday bad driving, especially that which causes accidents, in favor of giving speeding tickets.

That happens in Missouri too. LOL I have been known to do that once or twice a year LOL. Feel so stupid when I do it.
