Actually when I went by Greensboro on the "new" I-85 this morning I saw the TV crew and Troopers up on the Alamance Church Rd. bridge doing the story.
They were, according to Charlotte news interviews, supposed to have the Davidson, Guilford and Wake counties I-85 corridor saturated with Po Po's with "radar & LIDAR to slow down the speeders and reduce accidents". I saw fewer LEO's today than usual..........
Carolina 5-0 thanks for the info on I-85...I am probably headed to Charlotte this weekend and will be sure to mount the detector a little lower on the windshield in case the laser comes my way! :wink:
Is this what I heard about on WRAL 101.5 earlier in the month, kinda like a PSA from the D.J.
NC SHP said on a PSA with MIX 101.5 in Raleigh that they had just lobbied and received legistlative approval for a "new radar band." The announcer named it and it was a threat from the NCSHP to slow down because the current radars wouldn't pick it up. He did say it would be a slow roll out.
Will my STI Driver pick this signal up?
If its lidar yes it will pick it up but you have a chance that it won't in all cases by the time your detector picks it up it will be too late. (If you are shot) The only way around this is with a Lidar Jammer!
