St. Charles police conduct speed enforcement

St. Charles, IL - The St. Charles Police Department will be conducting a four-week speed enforcement beginning Feb. 1.
During the enforcement, officers will conduct speed-monitoring on the 1100-1900 block of East Main Street, the 1700-2500 block of West Main Street, the first block to the 400 block of North Second Street and the 700-1200 block of South Kirk Road.
The initiative is part of a statewide program to reduce the number of traffic crashes and fatalities.
Off-duty officers will be hired to conduct the enforcement, which is funded through a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
