Washington State Troopers, the Yakima Sheriff's Office and local Yakima Valley police departments were all keeping an eye on the roads Saturday. WSP even brought out the big dogs, the K-9 Unit was out checking cars for drugs. But we found out speeding alone isn't going to get your car searched. "No, the dog only comes maybe once or twice a day just depends on the circumstance if somebody is arrested with drugs or have suspected drugs in the vehicle," says Paul Woodside, Washington State Patrol K-9 Unit. Trooper Woodside gave us a first hand demonstration on how the canines look for drugs. WSP tells us they picked Highway 97 specifically because of it's history with speeders.
