Sigh.
Once again the irony is lost on both the cop and the news crew.
Apparently driving 82 in sunny/dry conditions in light traffic warrants getting pulled over, but the cop nailing it to 100mph+ to catch up the to the speeder is somehow perfectly safe and acceptable behavior.

He was actually benefiting society. Yeah, 83 in a 70 isn't necessarily lethal speed but enforcing seat belt laws, stopping a garage truck from dumping garage on the road, taking down truly dangerous drivers and of course running C/O Ka is something I like seeing.![]()
Back when I was an intern at the DAs office I rode with a detective on an attempted murder investigation. He was doing 85 in a 55 on country road over double solid yellows with the interior lights on talking on the radio and the cell phone at the same time...... I didn't feel very safe.
It was still pretty cool though. Stakeouts are only fun for the first few minutes though. I think we waited an hour (till like midnight) for the guy to come home and I had class at 8am the next day.
The speed limit there is 65, so 17 over is definently a ticket.
That's the same spot in a few of the videos I've posted a few months ago where they hide behind a hill on the other side of the median. By time you see the hood of the car, they've already got your speed.
Yep, that's all NCSHP uses here (LIDAR on occasion). They know how to use it well too.Looks like Ka 35.5 Kustom radar
Use a rabbit or cruise at 79.
