The Decatur Police Department will be conducting numerous highly visible Traffic Enforcement Measures beginning Aug. 21 and ending Sept. 7. The purpose of this project is to reduce the number of motor vehicle crashes, and the resulting injuries and fatalities. This project is City Wide and encompasses the Labor Day Holiday period.
The Decatur Police Department will conduct three types of operations: Speed Enforcement Patrols, Seat Belt Safety Zones and Seatbelt Saturation Patrols. During the IMaGE grant (Integrated Mini-Grant Enforcement) operations, the Decatur Police Department will have a zero tolerance policy for all violations of speed and occupant restraints.
This project is funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation
