Probably all the old people who want to get those kids of their lawn. Their lawn being the three lanes they can occupy at once and those kids being everybody not on their way to catch the early bird special.

Over 65% believe red light cameras improve traffic safety;

this seems to be a misconception everywhere. Since running a red light = bad, most people think punishing people who enter an intersection after the light turns red should be punished. Most people don't realize that red light cameras are about revenue, not safety. I, personally, believe that by shortening yellow lights, you actually can end up reducing the safety at an intersection (less warning to stop, etc etc) Most people also don't realize they you can get ticketed by a red light camera by doing something you consider safe, normal driving (ie, making a right turn on red without coming to a complete stop. I'm guilty of this from time to time, but I try to watch it.) The sad truth of the matter is that the public is misinformed. Most information about red light cams (and I mean solid info) comes through experience or the experience of others. The biggest education program about red light cameras is actually having them installed in your city, and sadly, they are difficult to get rid of one installed. Also, I have a feeling there are some statistical shenanigans going on. I'd like to know the sample size for this poll, as well as the sampling method and the non-response bias present and the polling method.
