Called "Operation Air, Land and Speed," the intensified effort netted 3,536 speeders, 717 reckless drivers and 20 drunk drivers. There also were 310 people cited for driving without a seatbelt and 35 drug or felony arrests.
Of course, how many of those 717 "reckless drivers" were simply speeding and got caught in VA's draconian "reckless driving" law...

Funny how these operations catch so many people who are simply ignoring an excessively low PSL or asinine seatbelt laws that harm no one but themselves, but catch only a total of 45 that should not be on the road in the first place.

It's just proof that these operations have nothing to do with enforcement and EVERYTHING to do with the almighty DOLLAR. GREED and REVENUE.

And did they ticket anyone for hogging the passing lane or cutting people off? I bet not.

I wonder how many RD tickets they netted in this scam as well...
There were more speeders on I-81 than I-95 (2,061 compared with 1,475) and more reckless drivers on I-95 (505 in contrast to 212).
Let me guess... I-95's average PSL and median speed is higher than I-81's?

If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

No no no no no, you are missing Virginia's greatest invention, the Highway Safety Corridor! The fines are outrageous and they drop the PSL down 10 MPH when you enter them. As soon as you enter them, you can bet within a quarter of a mile is a Virginia State Trooper sitting there taking radar. Virginia is a piece of ****. All that state cares about is producing revenue off absurd 'reckless driving' tickets.

Holy crap, that's messed up. When are the citizens of Virginia going to get fed up enough to put a stop to that crap? Maybe this November....

I'm glad that I made donations to VR&LI so I don't have to make a donation to the Communistwealth of VA.
