Are they having problems with accidents at this particular spot on I-170?

They have a .38 mile stretch of the highway, that's it. - There have been 61 accidents along Charlack's stretch of northbound I-170 over the last five years — none of them fatal, said Tom Blair, assistant district engineer for MoDOT.

NO. They are having problems with hearing the cha-ching sound. I'm probably going to drive down 170 in Charlack at 40 mph. Lets make a wall.

No town like Charcrap should have as nice cruisers as they do.

I wonder why they don't have Officers with radar in this area.

Guys, if you plan on coming out, make sure not to do under 45 or you may be ticketed for driving under the speed limit. Also another thought that crossed my mind, is if you are going to drive 45 do not impede the flow of traffic. I realize, it should be done. However if they want to be jerks like they are with the cameras , they will be out there getting anything they can.

Isn't this 4 or 5 lanes of traffic?

For you that are not familiar with St Louis. The County is made up of about 100 different municipalities, all with a police force!!!

When I lived there and commuted from Ladue to Downtown (about 10 miles), I went through about 10 different municipalities that all enforced the speed limit!!!

St Louis metro area is the BIGGEST speed-trap in the country in my opinion. The V1 earned it's money in St. Louis while I was there. You would literally run through 5 or 6 speed enforcement areas a day each way!!!

This is totally about revenue. With less than a half mile of interstate running through their city, there is no way they need a speed camera, other than to cash in on all the non-residents that travel through there each day commuting!!

I believe its four lanes. However, they say the camera can monitor all of them.

Off the top of my head, you went through 6 different municipalities(Frontnace, Huntleigh, Ladue, Richmond Heights, Clayton and Brentwood) on you short daily commute. Probably one city for each mile. If you come back the new I-64 (you probably know it as highway 40) is a rear laser nightmare. Today, on my commute from downtown to western St. Charles Co, had LLH's galore. Its probably like this because of enforcement. All traveling 5-10 under psl. Charlack is just like the city above it, St. John and just like the city below it, Sycamore Hills. Worthless, worthless worthless. I give it 1 year before all of I-170 is infested with this crap.

Besides being a speed trap down, this city also is great opportunity to get the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driving_While_Black"]DWB[/ame] experience. I've never seen an African American pulled over in West County drive away. Every time his car is towed and he goes to jail. I'm as white as as they get but I have to say the PD's in that area are most racist people I've ever seen.

Big X2 there! I thought the south had some racist people until I moved to STL!

All the driving at 5 below PSL was the biggest reason I left STL. I hated it, but I understood the fear these people live in from all the enforcement!
