An initiative to reduce the number of traffic fatalities in Frederick County by encouraging safe driving practices will begin Saturday and continue through May 31, Maryland State Police stated in a news release.

“Click It or Ticket” will focus on the enforcement of seat belt, child safety seats and impaired driving, the agency said.

According to police, during this initiative:

    # If you are not buckled, expect to be stopped by troopers.
    # If you are driving aggressively, expect to be stopped by troopers.
    # If you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, expect to be arrested.

^^really!??! I would have never guessed that!!!

Questions should be directed to Cpl. Dave Keller or Trooper First Class Justin Pare of the Frederick Barrack at, 310-600-4150.

Hey, here is one thing that is better about driving in Virginia compared to Maryland. In Maryland you can be stopped by the police and issued a ticket solely for not wearing your seat belt. In Virginia you can't be stopped only for not wearing your seat belt as it is a secondary offense. If a LEO in Virginia stops you for a primary offense and you were not wearing your seat, that is the only way a seat belt ticket can legally be issued in Virginia.

True, but usually MSP won't bother with seat belt violations unless things are moving real slow. Usually MSP will cut you a break and write you up for the seat belt over a speeding ticket...has happened to a few of my friends.
    Virginia sucks in all aspects.
I'll be on I-70 on Sunday...hopefully get some good videos.
