That looks cool... but it seems a bit too colorful and with too many pictures - even if a bunch of them are only activated with UV light, flashlights, etc. etc.

Does anyone know what the back of this ID looks like? 2d/3d/strip barcodes, additional security features, text, etc? Although they can be made and modified, too, barcodes are an efficient way of determining whether an ID is real or not and verifying age. Liquor stores here in PA have barcode scanners (although they're not always used) and when the ID/license is scanned, it brings up some basic information, including age, of the person on the ID.

My current CA DL already has a hologram, not sure if this other stuff will make that much difference.

those holigrams are nothing, perl-ex gold + ALPS 5000 impact printer ftw. Anyways, the key features on this license will be the raised signature, that will be the hardest part to fake. I like these new DLs, hopefully I can get one by forwarding my mailing addresss on my cali ID card, I keep it around for bars and the like =)

Link isn't working for me either, but does California have 'flexible' licenses like I've seen with NY's? (Is NY's still quite bendable? Last time I've held one was years back.)

Not sure what NY uses or what the NEW Cali DLs in this article are using, but previous versions were NOT PVC and were a flexible Teslin type paper with butterfly pouch lamination. This is the same type Texas and Colorado use.

Interesting, but it doesn't look that appealing.

    This is NY's newer license
